Glasgow's Gothic History

Just a short post today. Lamlash is next!

While my dad and stepmom were here, we explored Glasgow a bit. One day, we decided to walk down to the city center and explore St. Mungo's Cathedral and the Necropolis. The cathedral is super old and really gothic, which makes for a gorgeous building.

After exploring the cathedral, we meandered over to the Necropolis, which is a huge cemetery situated on top of a hill behind the cathedral. Generally, the higher up on the hill you were buried, the higher up in society you were. The extra-snooty of Glasgow's posh were buried right up on the top, overlooking the whole of the city.
Typical disgusting Glasgow day, but the scenery couldn't be beat.
These are the mausoleums of the extrasupersnootyposh ladies and gents of Glasgow.
All in all, it was a great day! Lots of lovely things to look at, and interesting history (which of course I can't remember now, but I knew it at one point, which I think counts). It was obnoxiously windy, but what else is new? I'm glad I had the 'rents here for a week. It was so nice to see family. The whole week was nice, and full of good food, good wine and good company. Love from Glasgow!
